Some SearchStax clients use outgoing IP filtering to increase the security of their systems. They inquire whether SearchStax can assign a static IP address to a deployment’s Solr HTTP endpoint.
The DNS names assigned to SearchStax servers do not change over the lifetime of the deployment. The IP addresses assigned to those names often change. This is due to SearchStax’s scalable architecture that may include elastic load balancers, application gateway and/or cloud servers.
Premium clients (Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus) may request a static IP endpoint as an add-on service. This feature is not available to self-service (Silver) clients.
