SearchStax clients sometimes ask if they can add their own files to custom Zookeeper directories to include them in system backups.
We generally advise that our clients do not store any excess data on the zookeeper nodes because the disks and nodes are not sized for this function.
Also, the backup/restore process copies specific Zookeeper folders, not all of them. For instance, the backup system restores configsets and .jar files that have been properly installed on the system. If you add your own Zookeeper folders, there is a good chance that data will be lost.
