SearchStax Managed Search Serverless is based on the Apache Solr search engine and is designed to run on serverless computing platforms. Like other serverless computing models, SearchStax Serverless Solr Service eliminates the need for developers to provision, configure or manage servers, allowing them to focus on developing and deploying search applications quickly and efficiently.

Serverless has limitations based on your plan level to ensure stability and performance for all users and client applications. There are two types of limits:

• Account Level: Limits which apply to the overall account.
• Index Level: Limits which apply to an individual Index within an account.

Index size and Search Request volume for the month are tracked in the dashboard and Account owners are alerted if they are approaching the threshold for their purchased plan. Plans do restrict usage beyond their limits, but upgrading to a larger plan can be done easily within minutes.

Various search providers calculate this differently. Serverless Solr Service plans have transparent pricing. We don’t measure or meter requests differently based on query length or complexity so you get exactly what you plan, prepared and paid for.

Upgrades and downgrades can be completed at any time. The read/write endpoints remain the same so there is no service disruption or changes required in the client application.

We don’t require Credit Cards to be entered to start free trials, but if you want to extend your plan beyond the free trial period then a Credit Card must be entered before the free trial period ends. If no payment method is entered, then your free trial plan is deleted including all data and backups.

We accept all major Credit Cards for payment. Options include flexible pay-as-you-go monthly payment plans or prepaid 1 year terms with an additional 10% savings. You can always start on pay-as-you-go and convert to a prepaid term when it suits your project needs.

Yes, you can cancel your account whenever it suits you. Any non-prepaid plans in the account will be billed prorated only for the number of days active in the account.

Canceling an account, or deleting a plan does remove the index data entirely. Be sure to backup your data locally before canceling your Serverless Solr Service.
