The London Metal Exchange (LME) is the world centre for the trading of industrial metals with the majority of all non-ferrous metal futures business is transacted on their platforms. LME provides producers and consumers of metal with a physical market of last resort and, most importantly of all, with the ability to hedge against the risk of rising and falling world metal prices
LME was on an older version of Sitecore and worked with the UNRVLD team on a digital transformation project to determine how best to evolve their online presence and deliver valuable functionality for their users and members.
There were substantial challenges for delivering this site as it was critical to display real time data on metal prices for users. To deliver the functionality, the system was required to manage integrations with several external systems and present large data sets. Large areas of the website are driven by search and based on Solr functionality, such as Events and News, site search with faceting and filtering, and document storage.
SearchStax Managed Search for Sitecore offered reliable, performant, and scalable Solr service that met all of the business requirements for LME. The SearchStax team played a key role in guiding the team through the implementation and testing of DR. More importantly, their knowledge of Solr behavior during failover events allowed the LME team to thoroughly and efficiently test DR prior to the go-live date.
UNRVLD won the 2021 Partner Excellence Award for the LME project.
